Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 2 (SP2) provides the latest updates and security fixes to Internet Explorer technology. Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 can be installed as an upgrade to existing versions of Internet Explorer, or on computers with no previous Internet Explorer installation. Total download size for a typical installation is approximately 17 megabytes (MB). However, because setup downloads only those files that are necessary for your computer, this size may vary between 6 and 17 MB.

bulletIf you are running Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NTŪ 4.0, installing Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 upgrades your computer to 128-bit encryption.
bulletIf you are running Windows 2000, installing Internet Explorer 5.01 SP2 will not change the current level of encryption on your computer.

Please note that you can install the Arabic or Hebrew version of this release only if you use the corresponding language version of Windows 98 or Windows 2000. The English version of this release should be used for installation on all other platforms (Windows 95, Windows NT4 and the English version of Windows 98).
