Q1. What is the DSL Test icon on my Desktop for ?

The DSL Test is actually a software utility created for end user incase they have problem connecting to their Broadband service using Aztech DSL100U modem. The test consists of :

  1. Interface Test - to check the USB port and USB cable from the modem to the PC
  2. Modem Test - to check if the DSL100U is able to sync up the ADSL line
  3. Line Test - to check the communication between the DSL100U and the Broadband Central Office.
  4. Network Test - to check the integrity of the DSL100U and the Broadband Authentication Server.

Please take note before you run the DSL Test : MAKE SURE UNDER DSL100U DIAL-UP THE PHONE NUMBER IS SET TO: 0,100

To check the DSL100U Dial-up number :

Under Win98/98SE
Double Click on MyComputer Icon on your Desktop > Double Click on Dial-up Networking > Right Click on DSL100U Dial-up select Properties>Under Telephone number make sure it is : 0,100

Under WinME
Click on Start Button > Settings > Select Dial-up Networking > Right Click on DSL100U Dial-up and Select Properties > Under Telephone number make sure it is : 0,100

Under Win2000
On your Desktop Right Click on MyNetwork Places and select Properties > Right Click on DSL100U Dial-up and select Properties > Make sure under the Dial number is set to:0,100
